Look who McKenzie met!
Earlier today at Bass Pro Shop we spotted Dylan and Cole Sprouse! We kindly asked if Mac could get a picture with them and let us interrupt their day. They were SOOO nice and kind!!! I only wish I had had a better camera at the time, but at least I had a camera. We will never forget this day. McKenzie has already called her friends and told them all about it!

Summer, BORING Summer!
Yes we have had the most BORING summer in the world.
Logan is STILL recovering from surgery almost 2!!! months later. His cast (should) come off Wednesday and we will see what his incisions look like then. His other 3 incisions have taken FOREVER to heal. The one on his arm is finally healed and the 2 on his legs are almost there. Home Health comes every other day to clean and dress these and he is still on antibiotics. My hope is for him to be healed by the time school starts!
With Logan needing to be home every other day we have not been able to do anything fun. We can't even go to the pool because Logan can't get in and I can't stand to see him upset, which he would be if the other kids and I went. So we stay home. At least its cool!!!
That is what we have been up to. Now you see why I haven't blogged in awhile. Nothing to blog about!

Logan's Surgery (or NOT!)
So today is the day Logan was supposed to have surgery. Yeah, that is what we thought too! We went to the Ortho yesterday for his pre-op appointment and were told see you Wednesday. WHAT!!! No you mean Tuesday. No Wednesday, we have a scolli case on Tuesday. So after a conversation with the Dr. someone is getting a "talkin to" about keeping better tabs on the scheduling.
All is not lost however as we will be going to Mesquite to play in the pool for a bit and have some fun on a day we were all dreading. Tomorrow is another story!
If you notice on my right side bar I am on Twitter and will be tweeting through his surgery so you can follow me from there if you wish.

Not Me Monday May 11, 2009
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I did not just sit around and enjoy the peace and quite while Ethan was at school and Dylan and Sophie slept. I have 5 kids and I have LOTS to do!
I did not overreact and think my car was broke down AGAIN! Make my sister drive here and watch Dylan and Sophie so I could take Ethan to Kindergarten Roundup, when in fact nothing was wrong with the car. It was leftover smell from the alternator going out the first time.
I also did not get pulled over for speeding, in Sami's car, because I was in a hurry to get to Kindergarten Roundup. I leave for things on time!
I think I need to not do lots more this week so you have something to read! I will do my best! See you next week.

May Day Disco
Here is some EXTREMELY low quality video of Mac's May Day Disco Dance. I would advise you to mute the sound as Sophie is SCREAMING during the whole thing. If you know "Stayin' Alive" by The Bee Gees you will be good!

Here goes my very FIRST Not Me Monday Post!!!
This week I did not not notice Ethan and Dylan going on a walkabout until the dog went crazy. I always know where my kids are and what they are up too!
I also did not buy more "camping chairs" because they were padded and sitting on the bleachers for 3 hours sounded like lots more fun!
I definitely did not stalk MckMama's blog to see how her first week back home went.
That is all for this week. Check back next week to see what I do not do!

Ethan's Walkabouts (or Bikeabouts)!
Last week Ethan went outside, I thought to jump on the trampoline. Little did I know he had taken his bike and went around the corner to his friend's house! When I found him I took his bike and stuck it in the back of Mike's "big" truck.
Well yesterday he asked if he could go to his friend's house again and I told him no because we were leaving to go to his cousin's house in a little while. So, Dylan and he went outside, on the front step, to blow bubbles while I was throwing a load of laundry in. Ethan only had pants and shoes on and Dylan was only in his diaper (this info is important!)
So I am in the laundry room and I hear DeeOhGee going NUTS!!! (well more than usual). I look outside and see Ethan carrying Dylan, who is carrying the bubble bucket and remember only in a diaper, through the front yard next door! They were on their way to Ethan's friend's house! At least he didn't just leave Dylan in the dust!
Ethan sure is adventurous and still keeps asking to go to his friend's house! I might even let him when he is 30!

No more cardio visits
Today was Sophie's last cardiologist visit.
When she was 2 weeks old her pediatrician heard a heart murmur and sent us to the cardiologist. Sophie was diagnosed with MILD Pulmonary Valve Stenosis. She went back at 3 months and we were told then that it had improved slightly and to come back in 9 months. Well, 9 months were up today and she had a check-up. Her PVS has completely resolved and her echo was perfectly NORMAL!!! It was the best birthday present she could have received. I was expecting to hear it was slightly better or the same and come back in a year, but to hear this news was AWESOME!!!

June 9th
Logan is scheduled for surgery on this date. He is having metal plates placed on the growth plates above his knees to correct his "knock-knees" (which have nothing to do with his lumpies). He is also having a HUGE lumpy removed from his left upper arm and having his right wrist revised AGAIN!!! Dr. Barry is hoping this will be the last time he needs to fix the wrist, wish I felt the same way!
We will be having his left wrist and right upper arm taken care of when the plates come out of his knees unless they become problems before that.

Ethan's First Game!
Ethan played his first tball game yesterday evening. It was really funny to watch him. His attention span in the field leaves something to be desired, but he did have fun and really that is what counts.
A few notes about the following videos:
1. Ethan is wearing a different shirt because he missed Opening Day and has not yet received his uniform.
2. There is no sound on purpose. Do you really want to hear me telling my other children to sit down and behave? Didn't think so! So I took the audio out, neat that I can do that huh?

T-Ball and Softball Season!
Ethan has wanted to play T-ball ever since he could talk and McKenzie was playing ball. This year he finally gets his wish. I have never seen anyone so excited for something...and for Ethan (those who know him know what I am talking about) this is the most excited I have seen him. He has practice every Thursday night and will have games on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Every night he asks, "How many more sleeps till t-ball?" I have never counted so many sleeps in my life! His coaches have purchased the team baseball pants (in white?!?) and I have to constantly battle him. I told him he must keep them spiffy for his first game, after that I have a feeling my washer and the bleach will be getting many workouts.
McKenzie, on the other hand, is playing softball this year. Her first year with all girls! It is so exciting to see her growing up and enjoying this sport. Jaime, Sami and Grandpa would be very proud of her "POWER" hitting. This girl can smash a ball!!! I see her being a GREAT hitter and fast runner. We do need to work on fielding, she isn't the best at throwing. You would think if she could hit the way she does she should be able to chuck a ball, not so. Must be a difference in where the "power" comes from??? All-in-all she is doing great and having fun.
Now for the schedule:
Ethan: Practice- Thursday
Games- Wednesday and Saturday
McKenzie: Practice- Monday and Thursday (until games start then only Monday)
Games- Thursday and Saturday
So I have to be somewhere Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, sometimes multiple places on some days!!! If you don't hear from me I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, just into the Baseball Season Pit!!!
(I will have some pics of the kids and maybe even some videos! when I emerge from the pit.)

Took a Hike!
I have been experiencing some cabin fever as of late, so I decided to resolve that issue and declared Sundays "Hike Day".
We went on our "first" hike last Sunday, but as it was just me and the kiddos I didn't take the camera. It was still a nice time though.
This week however Mike went with us and brought the camera. We are very fortunate to live close to the Valley of Fire. We hiked to Mouse's Tank this week and plan to do many more hikes there.

Logan, McKenzie, Ethan, Dylan, Sophie, DeeOhGee and I at Mouse's Tank
(The wind was blowing sand in our eyes, and have you ever tried to get 5 kids to look at a camera at the same time?)

Kids up on the rocks in a "cave"

Sophie and I while the kids were on the rocks

We Survived!!!
Yes we made it through another holiday season! Christmas, Mike's Birthday, and New Years have now come and gone and we have settled back into the school routine.
The children of course were spoiled to death!!! The most heartwarming thing was when Logan and McKenzie decided to help Ethan get the gift he most wanted for Christmas, an Xbox 360. See Santa just could not find room in his sleigh, but Logan and McKenzie donated all their Christmas money to the "Ethan Fund". It took every dime they all had, including Dylan and Sophie's as well, Mom and Dad even pitched in for a game! Ethan was the most thankful little boy you could imagine. Logan and McKenzie enjoy the Xbox too ;p
